It is a good year for the Oklahoma Sooners football coaches as it was announced that offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley and defensive coordinator Mike Stoops have had their contracts extended through 2018 with an annual salary close to the $900,000 mark.  For Riley, it is a raise close to $400,000 as he made $500,000 in 2015.  For Bob’s little brother Mike, he will garner around $50,000 more as his take in 2015 was close to $850,000 a year.  The raise puts Riley as the highest paid offensive coordinator in the Big 12.

It was also reported that Head Coach Bob Stoops contract was also extended through the 2021 season.  The University did not say the annual salary of Coach Bob but it is expected to be in the area of $5,5 million plus extenders.  He made $5.25 million in 2015.  It is expected that the leader for the OU football program will follow Nick Saban, Alabama ($6.9 million) as the highest paid coach in college football Kevin Sumlin, aTm ($5.0 million), and Charlie Strong, Texas ($5.0 million) are also in  the five million dollars a year coaches club.

Other assistants on the staff at Oklahoma also received pay raises.
