Texas Tech and Indiana I like…..What about Ohio State and Georgia?….Playoff picks

 Will there be some upsets in the quarterfinals?  

Quarterfinals:

Wednesday, Dec. 31

• Cotton Bowl in Arlington, TX: No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 10 Miami, 7:30 pm ET (ESPN)

The Buckeyes are the favorite to win but Miami, with the upset over Texas A&M will test them and could make it a game if Ohio State turns it over and does not play to expectations, as I think they might, I think it will be a 4th quarter game with OSU losing in the end 31-24.  Upset here.

• Orange Bowl in Miami Gardens, FL: No. 4 Texas Tech vs. No. 5 Oregon, noon ET (ESPN)

Texas Tech can dominate line play with Oregon and the Ducks must have big plays to win this on.  Texas Tech has the better defensive studs and will hold the day with a 34 to 29 thriller.

• Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA: No. 1 Indiana vs. No. 9 Alabama, 4pm ET (ESPN)

Indiana continues to show it’s toughness and Alabama gives the Hooisers their biggest win in the history of the school.  This one could get out of hand and I have Indiana taking a rather easy win 40 to 23.

• Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, LA: No. 3 Georgia vs. No. 6 Ole Miss, 8 pm ET (ESPN)

Georgia will have the experience to take this bowl as their defense will be able to bottle up the Ole Miss offense and quarterback. Georgia 38 and Ole Miss 28.
