Aziz Ansari made a film that gave me a good hour and a half of chuckles, a good, entertaining time, and a feel-good after-movie evening spent thinking about this light but important comedy. Important as the people and the angels are good overall, with some faults. Morals do count, and this film points that out, if you actually look
The acting in this one is pretty much a D class example of less-than-serious performances, but engaging. This is a nice cast, and they are what you want in a film like this. Yes, Keanu Reeves is one hell of a bad actor, and we know that. He doesn’t hide it here, and plays the angel that is a failure, losing those tiny wings. Rogan is almost as bad, and that is good for this film. His role seems like his real personality, and that is not a negative. And Ansari is top-tier bad too, which again, is good. His first time behind the camera shows he can do comedy, and I look forward to his next project. I really liked this film, and I think most nice people will too. “Most people don’t need an angel, just another person.” Yes, I agree.  I will watch it again down the road, when I need a chuckle and need to feel good.  Viewed on Amazon Prime.
Four stars out of five stars in my short Letterboxd review. Highly recommended for good people. If you are a creep or bad azz, forget about it.
