ONCE THAT 3 BALL GETS GOING THERE IS NO STOPPING HIM
As anyone that knows me, I am a Pete Maravich apologist. Many have others that to them are the most exciting, the best, the GOAT. For this sports fan “The Pistol” was and will always be my most favorite basketball player. That includes “his game” in college at LSU where I was privileged to witness him play three games in person. I was mesmerized by his performances in those three games.
Fast forward to the present, the current 2021-2022 NBA season and to my surprise, I think I might be seeing the second coming of the Pete. The rookie baller from Australia by the name of Josh Giddey has me wondering. Wondering if Pete Maravich has made an appearance as the new PISTOL, even if Josh Giddey has not put up the scoring numbers of my man as he did in college and the NBA.
But as this 19 year old continues to rack up the minutes at the highest level of basketball, my doubts that he could be recognized as highly as Maravich in the future, say ten, twenty years, become less and less. Josh Giddey, at this high school age, is showing his skills with amazement. That is a fact and not just blowing smoke up someones ass.
Josh Giddey is being discovered by the basketball world. His upside is immeasurable. His positiveness for endorsements is out-of-this-world. And this is because his skill sets, at this early age, can be measured against any current young player in the world.
