Big Twelve Predictions  (last week 4-5, season 19-9)

Oklahoma 42 and Army 13  (For any chance of an upset West Point must run clock and control the ball effectively.  If OU stops the run against the Army wishbone it will be a long day for them.  A game hard to predict. Remember that the Army lost its key offensive linemen from last year and the team has had to pass 39 times in it’s first three games. Not a good sign for the Army as it is having problems moving the ball on the ground.  Army must come out in the 1st quarter and make first downs. If they do not this game could be over by half. The rain should have no effect on the score.)

Oklahoma State 56 and Texas Tech 30  (OSU will punish the Red Raiders in Stillwater. A big rushing day and this one could get ugly.  Look for scores on both sides but OSU in a walk. No upset here.)

Iowa State 43 and Akron 20  (The Zips upset Northwestern in Chicago last week but was outgained by over one hundred yards.  Iowa State gets their first win but Akron is not a pushover.  Playing in Ames helps here. Look for a close game with the Cyclones putting it away late with a couple of scores.  The passing game will punish the Zips here.)

West Virginia 34 and Kansas State 24 (West Virginia will have a tough foe in KSU but should put the Cats away at home.  Expect a 4th quarter game but the passing game of West Virginia will be the difference.  This will be a game to watch in the conference.  A must win for West Virginia if they want to challenge OU and make the Big Twelve title game.)

Baylor 38 and Kansas 21 (Think the Jayhawks can win again?  Not going there. Baylor takes this home game and Kansas goes to another Big Twelve loss.)

TCU 31 at Texas 20  (I do not like the quarterback match-up in this one and I suspect both teams will made plenty of mistakes and turnovers.  Two good coaches that are having problems here. TCU had Ohio State and could have won but things got crazy in the 3rd quarter and that was that. UT’s quarterback Sam Ehlinger is prone to blow close games and that is a strong possibility in a close 4th quarter game. I like TCU but either team could win this one. Another must see game and both teams need to win.)
