The following predictions for the conference championship games this weekend. All odds are of Wednesday evening.

Big 12 Championship

#10 TCU vs. #2 Oklahoma

Odds: Oklahoma -6.5

We have one team that is superior to the other, yet either team could pull off the win.  Oklahoma took one half to dispose of the TCU Horned Frogs in the game in Norman as the Sooners ran away with a overpowering first half in their 38-20 blowout.  OU is much better in this re-match in many areas of the game.  That includes the overall line play by the Sooner’s offensive line against the TCU defensive front.  Add the fact that OU has the best player in the country at quarterback in Baker Mayfield, a fully developed pass receiving group that is dependable to catch not only the routine passes but make the spectacular plays not only on the shorter passes but on the deep ball, it will be tough on TCU. The Frogs have to get a rush on Mayfield and even that is not guarantee that he won’t evade it to make the big play.  With a host of capable running backs, OU is locked and loaded.  Does TCU have the horses to stop OU consistently Saturday?  I would not bet on it.  As for the TCU offense, if they can sustain drives, make some big plays, control the clock, they can give OU all they want. The Sooner defense will get TCU’s best shot and if the Frogs do not turn it over, they have a chance.

Final:  OU 41 and TCU 38
