YOU DON’T TALK ABOUT OTHER TEAMS PLAYERS AND YOU DON’T COMPLAIN ABOUT THE OFFICIALS AS THE HEAD COACH-PATTERSON IS THE ONE LACKING SPORTSMANSHIP

Comments made by Texas Christian head football coach Gary Patterson after his Horned Frogs were beaten by the Oklahoma Sooners Saturday showed pettiness.  It is one thing to complain about the Big Twelve officials that called the game, but to throw in added ranting about the opposing quarterback, was in fact, less than professional.  Patterson was out-of-line, by Big Twelve rules, on griping about the calls of the game.  His words concerning Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield were not only wrong, but in fact, showed a lack of class of the veteran football coach.  Matter of fact, opposing coaches are not to call out players of other teams, no matter the situation.  Patterson acted like a big baby in his remarks.  Fines by the Big Twelve should come this week and disdain by Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops is surely noted.

As for the officiating, the TCU coach specifically didn’t like an intentional grounding call against TCU QB Kenny Hill on the last drive. The referees decided it was unwarranted originally before reversing the call after Bob Stoops had a tantrum.

In his post game presser, Patterson  believed his quarterback (Hill) didn’t have anybody to throw it to. “In my estimation, he got hit. I don’t know how he could tell he couldn’t throw it to him.”

Through replay, the officials got the call right and Patterson is complaining because the right call was finally made?  Weak Coach, very weak.
Amazing. We can’t say anything but they can say whatever they want to. I don’t really care right now if the commissioner, if they don’t like what I think about the officials. Talk about sportsmanship in this game. I have a quarterback who writes a whole article about me, how I treated him. But I can’t say anything about officials. Bottom line, I wasn’t happy with the officiating.
Patterson was referring to Mayfield on sportsmanship.  Mayfield, a former recruit that TCU had promised a scholarship to play football for the Frogs, didn’t happen.  The TCU coach had gone back on his word and took the ride to Fort Worth away and Mayfield showed his displeasure of a coach that had lied to him.  Want to talk about sportsmanship Coach Patterson?  Your comments last night lacked that in spades.  Who the frick are you to talk sportsmanship Coach?  Who is the adult here and who is the kid?  You promise a high school player a place to play and when someone you think  might be better comes along you take it away.   And now you have the balls to complain because you got your ass beat by this quarterback?

There was some lack of sportsmanship in Fort Worth yesterday and it was displayed by Gary Patterson.  Coach, look inside yourself. You were out-of-line.
