The Big 12 continues with a significant November game Saturday when Oklahoma takes the trip south to test the Baylor Bears. For the Sooners to be successful look for two things. First, can OU run the football? They better if they want to win. Second, will the Sooners let the Bears get the jump on OU in the first quarter? If they do it will a long night on the Brazos River for the visitors. Take the home team in this one, 42 to 31. OU won’t run and Baylor jumps out early. Baylor gets its first good win of the year.
Oklahoma State takes an undefeated team to Ames Saturday afternoon and forget what happened in 2012. The Pokes will dismantle the Cyclones of Iowa State, 56 to 14. Oklahoma State needs style points and they will get a boat load. Iowa State has no chance.
In other Big 12 action Kansas goes to TCU for this weeks beat down. Trevone Boykin gets back on track as the Horned Toads consume the Jayhawks 64 to 7. Gary Patterson won’t take the foot off in this one. Again, poor Kansas.
Kansas State and Texas Tech will play a competitive game on the South Plains. I again take the home team but it will be close. Look for the Wildcats to run for over 300 yards, maybe 400. But Patrick Mahomes II should have a field day and Tech pulls it out 31 to 28.
And finally the Horns of Texas go to Morgantown in another competitive game. I will take the men from the mountains as they have the better team and want to get to a bowl, something UT won’t accomplish this season. West Virginia 38, Texas 20.
Around the Country:
Alabama will test 20th ranked Mississippi State in Starkville. A game that Alabama needs to punish the Bulldogs with their superior lines. In an upset, the Crimson Tide get beat as their weakness in special teams along with some turnovers do them. Final, Miss. State 26, Alabama 19.
Florida goes down in competition to play South Carolina and tastes defeat. 15-14 Cocks.
Power Five teams that will be tested this week (they could lose but it is not expected): Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan, LSU, Stanford, Iowa, UCLA…..one or more of these teams could be upset by their opponents.

Florida doesn’t go “Down” to play South Carolina . . . They travel North, thus they go “up” to play them. I like the Gators to win here but fail to cover the point-spread. Take the Cocks in Vegas, and the Gators in the game.
comment appreciated Chuck….thanks for reading my article.
Fred, here is good website with a schedule of week’s college football games. My tailgating buddies use it every week.

About the Big 12 – Let’s see how November plays out. Hopefully, one of the remaining unbeaten will make their way thru.
The biggest issue I have with the committee’s top four is Alabama. If beating a one dimensional LSU team is a signature win then the committee must not recall the success Ohio State, Oklahoma, Auburn, Ole Miss, etc had against Bama in the past.
Thanks Jim. How are you doing? Alabama is a big old fashioned pound it team that, for this season, is not deserving a playoff spot with one loss. Notre Dame is much the better qualified team with their two point loss to Clemson on the road. With the old guard of Tom Osborne and Barry Alvarez (Wisconsin) on the committee, they will stick up for Alabama and Big 10 teams that like to slug it out…..with them, the PAC 12 and the Big 12 don’t know how to play defense (which is not valid). I will go to the site you gave me. Great to hear from you!
