Kansas State to give OU their best test……

Yes, Oklahoma is good.  How good and do they have a legit chance to make the end-0f-year playoffs is still to be determined.  But after three early wins against suspect teams, most observers believe that this Sooner team is playing complimentary football, with a swarming defense and an offense that can run the ball, make the big plays, and not give away the turnover.  With a game at home this Saturday, OU will step up in competition with Kansas State, but how much is that given rise with the Wildcats. K-State could not run the ball in a home loss to an inferior Tulane Green Wave.  OU could struggle but then again, OU could plaster a wildcat skin on the locker room wall.  With all that is known at this time, the Sooners will backfire some on offense a and KSU might get some mileage out of the running game, but the finality will not be kind for the visitor.  I have OU in a 24-20 win.

Kansas wide receiver Luke Grimm, left, and tight end Mason Fairchild celebrate after a touchdown against West Virginia on Saturday in Morgantown, W.Va. KATHLEEN BATTEN AP

Kansas has it’s first sellout in Lawrence since 2019 and only the second since 2013 as they host another 3-0 team, the Duke Blue Devils.  Kansas is not a bad undefeated team and have been able to move the ball.  Look for a Jayhawk win with the score being in the 30 to 20 range. Another good week for the Kansas program

A road game in Blacksburg, VA for West Virginia and it should be close. Neither team is worth crap and I have the Gobblers winning 21-17.  That game is on Thursday night.

Old rivals SMU and Big 12’s TCU play in Dallas Saturday morning.  Give the Toads the win, but close.  Toads 31 and Mustangs 28.

Baylor travels to Iowa State and I do not have a lot of faith that either team can put up much on offense.  Baylor had their best quarterback transfer and his replacement is playing bad football.  ISU had issues with a win at Iowa.  Both teams are not playing well.  I have the home team close 17-15.

Texas Tech and the Longhorns of Texas do not like each other.  Either could win this one but I really like the Texas line play, both on offense and defense.  Texas 38 and Tech 24.
