Superman has made his way to Norman and the Oklahoma Sooners have their most impressive freshman quarterback in that storied football program’s history.  His name is not Clark Kent.  It is Caleb Williams.

The true freshman from Washington DC was the catalyst Saturday night on Owen Field as he accounted for five touchdowns (four passes and one rush) as the Sooners overcame the Frogs of TCU, 52-31.  Williams passed for 297 yards and had 66 on the ground as Gary Patterson’s purple defense was horrific in the loss.  The five scores was a Sooner record for a first time freshman starter.

Expect more to come as OU is has shed it’s somewhat less than impressive offensive showing with former starting quarterback Spence Rattler as the field commander.  Look for the Sooners to continue to roll next week with a visit to Kansas.
