Hall-of-Famer Brian Bosworth now MOST HATED PLAYER IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY

June 11, 2016

Repost and added information:  Brian Bosworth has been named the most hated player in college football history per the Sporting News.  The newly inducted Hall-of-Fame linebacker was “honored” with the award this week for the upcoming year of 2016.  Congratulations Brian.  The fans of the country still remember you.  And we all know you are loved by the Sooner Nation.  Boomer.  http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football/list/most-hated-college-football-players-bosworth-cam-newton-manziel-tebow-jameis-winston-michael-irvin-deion-sanders/1wc2jfh2ntr6y1cqsxu9rpvkvz

From Oct-2015:  A most deserving Brian Bosworth will be honored Saturday in Norman as well as the 1985 National Championship team that defeated Penn State in the Orange Bowl at the end of that season.  Good for the team and good for the greatest linebacker in Oklahoma Sooner history (with respect to Rod Shoate and many other All-American backers in the history of Sooner football).  Brain, one of the three greatest I ever saw at the position for a college player along with Shoate, as the great ones from the old Big 8 and the fabulous Tommy Nobis from the Univ. of Texas from the Southwest Conferenc.  They were the greatest for many reasons, but watching them put the hurt on a runner, no one did it better than those three. You can count Brian out as a 3-time All American but that is immaterial.  Nobis and Shoate were three time All-Americans with Bosworth a two-time Butkis winner as the best linebacker in the land when he played.

From an earlier writing by yours truly:  Brian Bosworth was as dominating a linebacker college football has ever had. Bosworth played at Oklahoma from 1984 through the regular season final of 1986. A two time consensus first team All-American and the only two time Butkus winner for best linebacker in college, Bosworth became larger than life and is known by the sports world as “the Boz”. College Football News has him ranked as 30th on its list of the “100 Greatest College Players of All-Time.” In October 1999, Bosworth was named to the Sports Illustrated NCAA Football All-Century Team as one of only nine linebackers on the squad. Bosworth’s terrific play can be seen in the following video.
