Sources inside the Oklahoma City Thunder have leaked that super-star and MVP of the 2016-2017 season, Russell Westbrook, could be inked to a five year $220 million plus extension by as early as today, Friday, July 14, 2017. This would make Westbrook the highest paid athlete in one of the four major sports in North America. The extension would begin in the summer of 2018 and run through the 2022-2023 NBA season, putting Westbrook in Oklahoma City for the next six years.
