West Virginia will be tested in Stillwater; Sooners to try to shore up defense; Florida State and Clemson?

West Virginia will find out how strong their defense is this week in the highlight game of the Week in the Big Twelve as they will try to hold the Oklahoma State Cowboys in check.  Both the Pokes and the Mountaineers will put points on the board in this major contest of the week.  Look for a tight fit for the winner and with West Virginia holding the better defense, the pick is 42 to 39 for the visitor.  But this one is so close that putting money on it would be foolish.

Oklahoma wlll score plenty and Joe Mixon will again show why he is one of the best backs in the country as the Sooners will dismantle the Jayhawks of Kansas 49 to 28 in Norman.  Baker Mayfield and DeDe Westbrook should hook uo for some big league scores also.

Baylor goes to Austin and this  Bear team does not stop the run.  Texas running back D’Onta Forman will carve up the Baylor rush defense and if the Horns can run clock, this one will be close.  Still, I will go with Baylor (no guts) in a 38 to 27 score. Upset here is very possible.

Kansas State and Iowa State tussle in Ames and I will always go with a Bill Snyder team over a rookie coach when things are almost even.  Home field will help the Cyclones but the Wildcats are my choice 24 to 17.

TCU and Texas Tech battle in Fort Worth and this will be a typical Big Twelve scoring fest.  Frogs hold the swamp pad here even though Patrick Mahomes II continues to impress.  TCU 63 and Tech 48.
