Big Twelve Review: Sooners mess with Texas; Pokes win; K-State better than Tech; TCU horrible; Bama and Bucks still on Top

It was exciting watching the Sooners and Horns Saturday in the Cotton Bowl.  As for football quality, yes, both teams have some very good offensive players.  As for defense, both teams lack in many areas, as the teams broke the record for most points scored in this great rivalry.  Injuries have not helped OU. As for the Texas defenders, they are just not good. Coaching has to do with a lot of the problems both seem to have, but to say that is the crux of the situation, well, I wont go that far.  It sure was exciting.  I am sure Texas Head Coach Charlie Strong thought is was, not.  Boomer Sooner and Hook’em.

As for Oklahoma State, it was just enough to beat a bad Iowa State team.  They played the last 20 minutes of a 60 minute game and won. Coach Gundy, I am sure, will impress on his team that playing 20 minutes of a game won’t beat a lot of folks.  Maybe Kansas but nobody else in the Big Twelve.

As for TCU, what goes?  Kansas is bad and TCU’s performance tells me that Frog Head Coach Gary Patterson has some adjustment problems with his team.

Kansas State and Texas Tech played a close game in Manhattan.  The worst defense in the country gave up 42 to the Wildcats.  The Wildcats gave Tech 38.  That KSU defense was the best defense in the league Saturday.
