Picks for this week in College Football; Can Irish pull it out? Sooners, Cowboys in Bedlam; Iowa and Huskers Battle




Texas Tech at Texas: Tech enough to win this one against a sub-par Texas team 28-17

Iowa State at West Virginia: Last game for Rhoads as WV scoots along to a bowl.  29-24 Mountaineers.

Kansas State at Kansas: Poor Kansas.  Wildcats 35-10.

Alabama at Auburn:  No upset this year.  Tide easy 38-14

Clemson at South Carolina:  Clemson is good on both sides of the ball.  The Cock’s are not.  Tigers 56-7

Ole Miss at Mississippi State:  I like the home team here.  State 27-21

Florida State at Florida:  Noles solve the Gators defense for a couple of scores and that will be enough.  FSU 17-7

Texas A&M at LSU:  Les Miles gets the win in his last game for LSU.  Let’s say 27-26.

Missouri at Arkansas:  Emotional game for Missouri as they must win to extend the season for a bowl for the coach.  Pigs just playing too good right now.  Arkanasas 20-10

Georgia at Georgia Tech: Georgia Tech takes this one in Atlanta 23-19

Louisville at Kentucky:  Mark Stoops team continues to slide in a 31-18 loss.

Vanderbilt at Tennessee:  Vols pound Vandy 30-7

Penn State at Michigan State: Mark Dantonio keeps his Spartans focused in a nice home win over the Nittnies.  Mich. State 34-10

Ohio State at Michigan:  Buckeyes drop another one.  Michigan 27-20

Iowa at Nebraska:  Huskers surprise Iowa as the Hawkeyes fall flat. Huskers 23-20

Northwestern at Illinois: Northwestern wins on the road 39-17

Wisconsin at Minnesota: Look for a mild surprise with the new head coach at Minn.  Gophers 32-29

Indiana at Purdue: Kevin Wilson’s Hoosiers make the bowl game with the win, 45-28.

Maryland at Rutgers: Bad teams play and I will take the home team 27-24.

Notre Dame at Stanford: It’s in California so I will take the Trees 20-17.

UCLA at Southern Cal: I like USC better than UCLA 40-31.

Oregon State at Oregon: Ducks eat Beaver 59-0.

Washington State at Washington:  I have liked the Cougars all season but this one will get Mike Leach upset.  Huskies 27-26.

Arizona State at California: Home team wins 32-28.  Bears just a little better.

Colorado at Utah: Utes beat an improved Buffs 29-14.

North Carolina at North Carolina State: No upset here.  Tar Heels 48-31

Miami at Pittsburgh: Pitt wins at home 31-28.

Virginia Tech at Virginia: VT won’t let Frank Beamer down.  Gobblers 36-21

Duke at Wake Forest: Bad football won by a bad football team. Blue Devils over Demon Deacons 32-20.

Boston College at Syracuse:  BC’s defense is better even in New York.  Eagles 15-12.

Tulsa at Tulane: Tulsa goes bowling with a nice win here.  TU from Tulsa 46-28.

Navy at Houston: Navy falls in the upset 28-24.

Cincinnati at East Carolina: ECU puts a nail in Tubberville’s bad team 38-30.

Connecticut at Temple:  Owls fight for a tough win in the City of Brotherly Love.  Temple 22-10.

SMU at Memphis: A rout for the Memphis State Tigers 65-20.

South Florida at Central Florida:  Finally it is over for CFU.  SFU 50-7.

Air Force at New Mexico: The Mountian west champ rolls 43-21.

Colorado State at Fresno State: Rams over Bulldogs 28-21.

Boise State at San Jose State: Close win for Boise 30-28.

Brigham Young at Utah State: BYU whops the Aggies 35-17.

Nevada at San Diego State:  Nevada has no clue in this one.  State 28-7.

Nevada-Las Vegas at Wyoming:  Cowboys can’t defend home field in this one.  Rebs 27-17.

Louisiana-Monroe at Hawaii:  Close but give it to the home team 20-13.

And in a big game in the Big 12-  Baylor at TCU:  Frogs win 41-30.
