Arkansas will be looking for another football coach if things continue to play out for the SEC’s best losing team. Oklahoma State used every one of the Razorbacks miscues to beat the visitors in Stillwater yesterday in a devastating loss to the Pokes. It was another nail in the coffin of Arkansas coach Sam Pittman as they are hell bent in losing games that should be won. Pittman may not survive the season.
Arkansas had the 16th-ranked Oklahoma State outplayed for most of the game as they continued to move the ball gaining upwards of 700 total yards Saturday, after shutting down the OSU offense for the first half. The second half the Cowboys came to life on offense and was able to win in the 2nd overtime.
A sellout crowd of 52,202 at T. Boone Pickens Stadium witnessed the comeback after the Arkansas litter had a 21-7 lead after 30 minutes.
Bottled up all game, Oklahoma State All-America running back Ollie Gordon scored on a 12-yard touchdown run and had a catch on the 2-point try in the second overtime to give the Cowboys (2-0) the lead.
Arkansas running back Rodney Hill was shut down for a 1-yard loss on fourth-and-1 from the OSU 5 on the final play of the game.
The Razorbacks (1-1) got beat despite out-gaining the Cowboys 648-385 on offense. Oklahoma State scored 18 points off of three Arkansas turnovers and also scored when the Razorbacks missed on a fourth-down attempt deep in Cowboys territory in the fourth quarter.
