FORD MOVES ON FROM STILLWATER

Trace Ford, #94, now a Sooner.

Star defensive lineman Trace Ford has transferred from Oklahoma State University to the University of Oklahoma.  He will end his college career as a Sooner.  The graduated Ford will have two seasons remaining if he chooses.  His injury status for the 2023 season should be positive after recovering from a season ending injury in the Kansas game this past season. Ford considered University of Southern Cal among other blue blood programs before being sold on his move to Norman.  He will be a first line defensive stopper for the Sooners and should be a day one starter for OU.

To note, Coach Gundy has not reached out to Trace Ford.  No goodbyes or thanks for the years you played here for us.  The personal touch to actually care for a player seems to not be in Gundy’s wheelhouse.  That is telling.

The other major story is that the Cowboys have had various players, including four starters off the 2022 team to enter the portal.  That number has reached 16 and continues to grow as OSU lost three receivers in the past couple of day.  One must ask the question.  What is going on here?  Is there a reason for so many players wanting out of this program?  And to follow up, is going on with Coach Mike Gundy and his issues with losing this significant number of players?  Is there a need for coaching change and a possibility of inner trouble for the Cowboys?  The poor showing so far in recruiting is a recipe for some losing seasons  for  the Pokes.  Changes for OSU seem to be coming.

Has Mike Gundy’s time as the head man for OSU come to the final few seasons and is it time for him to move on also.  Maybe it has.

  1. Mike has done more for osu than anyone in the history of the program. Money talks and bullshit walks. That’s the portal for you.
