Lethal Weapon 1987
6th January 2019
Fred Pahlke’s brief review published on Letterboxd :
I viewed Lethal Weapon, the movie, again in this week and the flick is still as fresh as ever. Richard Donner directs this 1987 film (and the future three that follows). Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are the true one and only buddy cops and this one was still delivers the goods in comedy, drama, violence, and action. Gibson has a knack of playing the “off kilter character” and his performance is to note as he is put into situations that call for “crazy suicidal.”
My standard DVD viewed at home on my Panasonic 65 inch plasma using a 4k blue ray upscale made the film look wonderful. Have the DVD. Will view LW 2 in a day or so and see how that one has aged. I expect the best for that flick too.
