It is one hour before kickoff here in the midlands on game day Saturday.  Some final looks at the games of the day.

Oklahoma hosts West Virginia:  OU wins if they establish the run.  Keep the ball away from WV and chew up some time, limit possessions and be effective with some big passing plays.  The Sooners must rush WV qb Skyler Howard as he will cut the Sooner defensive backs slices as he dices them without pressure.   The Mountaineers have to stop Perine and Mixon and keep OU quarterback Baker Mayfield from his allusive scrambling and playmaking.  This might be the most entertaining game of the morning and early afternoon in this roster start.  Updated Prediction:  OU 30, West Virginia 27

Oklahoma State hosts Kansas State:  The Wildcats can make this one a close and typical Bill Snyder game if they can control the line of scrimmage.  O-State won’t give the line to KSU and will work on keeping the Wildcat running game in check.  Pokes is a tight win 23 to 17 in Stillwater.

Texas goes to TCU:  Still don’t see the Horn’s stopping Trevone Boykiin.  Texas slumbers into another loss, this one a blow-out.  Look for big numbers for the Frogs in the passing game and Boykins goes for 300 plus passing and 100 plus running.  The Heisman hopeful has his best game so far this season. UT qb Heard gains some good yardage on the ground but his passing will let him down. Still a work in progress but his future is bright in Austin.  TCU 48 and UT 24.

Kansas at Iowa State: Not much to say here. Iowa State is better on both lines and has a good qb in Richardson.  Cyclones win 34-17.

Baylor hosts Texas Tech:  Bears run it up and Tech cannot match the production. Big day for a big score.  Bears 56 and Red Raiders 42.
