Oklahoma hosts Tulane Saturday in Norman and this could be a game that will give the Sooners a true look on what to expect for this team in 2024. Having a good, or even great defense, is key for OU coming into this game, and another dominate performance for the Sooner stoppers seem like a must for the win, The offense is so bad that any crack in the OU defense will be a recipe for a loss. Tulane played Kansas State to the end last week, but lost in the 4th quarter in New Orleans. The Sooners held the Houston Cougars to only 12 points in their four point win, but Tulane is a dangerous team that can score. This game could be decided early if either team can get up as much as ten or more points. Confidence in OU scoring with their problems moving the ball is lacking. OU is terrible on the offensive line, with their receivers, and the general play calling of offensive coordinator Seth Littrell. Another repeat of the Houston game for this offense is playing with a green wave of fire. As for Tulane, this program has made great strides in becoming a worthy opponent against the best teams and an upset is possible. Sooners pull it out in the end. OU 20 and Tulane 16.
Oklahoma State goes to Tulsa and expect the Pokes to riddle the hosts 48 to 24. Look for Ollie Gordon to have a career game. Tulsa will get their points but do not expect the Cowboys to be pressured by the 4th quarter. There will be more OSU fans at the game than Tulsa fans, so any home field advantage is moot.
