'Really Poised' Longhorns National Title Contenders?

In my many years of posting my thoughts on this platform, I have never predicted an upset like the one I am doing today.  The Texas Longhorns, an excellent team and the favorite of the Big 12 this year, will host the Kansas Jayhawks in DKR in Austin.  And at the end of this Saturday, Texas will suffer their first loss of the season, and the many thousands of college football fans can say, “Texas is NOT back.”

I have Texas losing in one of the most exciting games in the country for 2023, 40 to 38 to Kansas.

Kansas has a history of beating Texas in Austin.  They bring to the game a spiffy 4 and 0 record and will not be under the pressure that the favored Longhorns will feeling.  UT has opened as a 17 point favorite today.  The Jayhawks are not the old losing birds of the past.  Head coach Lance Leipold landed in Lawrence and changed the culture.

KU has developed an exciting offense with talented players at the skilled positions and can match Texas, as surprising it may seem, in that area.  Jalon Daniels leads the team and has proven he can beat you with the pass and the run.  Texas will have to control him at the line of scrimmage to have success Saturday.  Daniels is a better overall player than what UT brings with Quinn Ewers, the ballyhooed “best” quarterback that the media wants you to believe.  Ewers, in this game, will have success, but make enough mistakes to give KU an edge in pulling off the upset.  Turnovers will hurt UT significantly in this game.  With UT looking forward to Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl a week from Saturday, this sets up for a shocking win for KU.

That is the way I see it sports fans.
