I began to drink coffee late in my life, relatively speaking. I enjoyed my first cup about the time I became the Principal of Lee Elementary in 1998. I was 45 years old. Today, at age 69, I drink between seven and ten large cups a day, beginning with my first one within fifteen minutes after I get up in the morning. Retired, that could be anywhere from 6:00 am to noon, but usually around eight thirty or so. I did not drink coffee for the majority of my lifetime because I really did not like the taste and the need for caffeine and sugar was supplied mostly by soda pop. I found out about flavored coffee but don’t remember the actual time or place but once tasted it with some creamer and sugar I was hooked for sure.
I grind my own coffee and drink most all common brands. Currently I am grinding Eight O’clock Colombian brand as I find it tasty and on the cheap side. Some of my issues with coffee is that with the amount of consumption I do not spend much time at places like Starbucks or any other coffee brewing stores. Spending a five spot on a cup of coffee is not my pleasure. And with espresso, again I am not a fan as I do not like strong coffee but rather a milder blend with a creamer and Truvia as a sweetener.
I am a person that can drink a cup of coffee, or two, in the late evening, or early morning, and have little problem in falling to sleep. I have tried decaffeinated coffee and like it. I will have some already ground decaf occasionally at home but do not drink it regularly.
Health concerns do not and will not stop my coffee addiction. I enjoy my drink of choice.
