Three Oklahoma Sooner football scholarship players have been dismissed from the team in the past couple of months as of Cleveland County Court documents confirming that the players are being charged with robbery, conspiracy and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.\u00a0 All three will never play another down for the Sooners.<\/span><\/h6>\n

“The Norman Police Department has submitted a request for an arrest warrant to the Cleveland County District Attorney\u2019s office for University of Oklahoma football player Mikey Henderson, a Norman PD spokeswoman told SI Sooners on Tuesday.\u00a0 \u00a0 Henderson had confirmed involvement in the alleged armed robbery that resulted in the dismissal of Trejan Bridges and Seth McGowan.\u00a0 Norman PD public information officer Sarah Jensen said NPD investigators have determined that Henderson is the third party involved in an alleged armed robbery on April 15 at the Crimson Park Apartments that resulted in the arrest of OU football players\u00a0Trejan Bridges\u00a0and\u00a0Seth McGowan.”<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

The question has to be asked.\u00a0 Is there any issue with the Sooner recruiting process that brings to the program young men that have the inclination to commit felonies as of the ones of these three players, Bridges,\u00a0 Henderson, and McGowan?\u00a0 Is something being missed, or overlooked, as they gage the moralistic behavior of those they want to play in Norman?\u00a0 I believe with fidelity that young men have set their foundation of what is right and what is not right by an early age, even before they start elementary school.\u00a0 To the initial question, what is the process the recruiting coaches use to investigate their candidates to play for OU?\u00a0 Did these criminal activities surprise the coaches?\u00a0 Lincoln Riley, do you know your charges?\u00a0 Shocked about what happened or not?\u00a0 Were there “red flags” about the character of these men as they were being recruited?<\/span><\/h6>\n

Sooner fans, the football program at OU is not perfect and it is up to head coach Lincoln Riley to fix what is broken.\u00a0 Recruiting men of dubious behaviors is an issue that is has to be addressed and now. This issue will not just go away.<\/span><\/h6>\n
