\u201cAwesome honor for Sarah Fuller<\/strong> \u2026 the Vanderbilt kicker, who just became the 1st woman to ever compete for a Power 5 college football team, has now earned an SEC Player of the Week award.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The conference announced the selection Monday \u2026 splitting this week\u2019s Special Teams Player of the Week honors between Fuller and Florida punt returner Kadarius Toney<\/strong>.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFuller made history Saturday,\u201d SEC officials said in a statement.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Fuller \u2014 who just joined the Commodores\u2019 football team last week after it was left shorthanded<\/strong><\/a> due to COVID-19 \u2014 kicked just one ball<\/strong><\/a> for Vandy on Saturday, but she made it count.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n<\/section>\n

My take is a little different:\u00a0 <\/span>this award is a total joke\u2026..disrespectful toward women that actually do something that really impacts a game\u2026..I actually would think she would turn down the award as of being such a non-worthy act for her, her team, college football and sports in general.\u00a0 This sort of \u201chonor\u201d smells of what is totally disingenuous with our society today.\u00a0 We have become such an awful America that we reward people for doing absolutely worthless things\u2026.and that in fact tells us that we are in need for being recognized over being relevant. So what she was a women that played in a game.\u00a0 Are women that piss poor in athletic ability?\u00a0 I say not.\u00a0 Yes, she is the first female to play in a Power Five college game (but a girl at Colorado back in the day did kick an extra point).\u00a0 It does not change the world. \u00a0 All it did was get the head coach fired.\u00a0 So sad.
