Saturday saw Baylor<\/span> <\/em>continue to run and pass up and down the field in their throttling of West Virginia<\/span> <\/em>62-38\u00a0and Oklahoma<\/span> <\/em>played almost a\u00a0perfect game as an\u00a0injury ravaged\u00a0and helpless Kansas State<\/span> <\/em>was\u00a0kicked like a dead dog 55-0 in Manhattan.\u00a0 Texas Tech<\/span> <\/em>had a much closer than expected 30-20 win against Kansas<\/span><\/em> and TCU<\/span>\u2018s<\/em> offensive firepower was too much for the I<\/span>owa S<\/span>tate<\/span> <\/em>Cyclones in Ames, 45-21.<\/h6>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Baylor is the best team in the\u00a0nation right now. That is my call as they have a tremendous offense, one that can run the ball and pass the ball with excellence.\u00a0 Seth Russell <\/em><\/span>is the key and his running is just as potent as\u00a0his passing game (with the best set of receivers in the country).\u00a0\u00a0The Bears\u00a0can be beaten as I have\u00a0mentioned in previous articles, but it will\u00a0take a defense that is\u00a0better than average and\u00a0the\u00a0BU will need to cooperate with some turnovers.\u00a0Currently,\u00a0only Okla. State<\/span> and Oklahoma<\/span> has a chance\u00a0but with the Sooners going to Waco,\u00a0it will be a long shot for\u00a0an upset there.\u00a0 As for Baylor\u2019s\u00a0trip to Stillwater, what I have said must happen with the turnovers, and the Pokes themselves would have to limit mistakes by their offense That\u00a0is a tall order.\u00a0 Baylor is not perfect on defense and they do give up points and yards, but for them to lose a game in conference, I won\u2019t put any money on it.\u00a0 As for TCU\u2019s<\/span> chances of beating Baylor<\/span>, that\u2019s\u00a0iffy.\u00a0The game is\u00a0in Fort Worth and that is a\u00a0positive for TCU<\/span>.\u00a0The Frogs defense gave up over 400 yards to Iowa State and Baylor will shred the Toad\u2019s defense.\u00a0 That Frog defense has to get better.\u00a0\u00a0For\u00a0fans of the Purple in Fort Worth, I\u2019d be worried.\u00a0 Right now, it is not good in any way for TCU<\/span> in that match up. The worst thing in\u00a0the world is having to outscore Baylor<\/span>. The second worst thing is having to outscore TCU<\/span>.\u00a0 This could be the game of the year in this part of the country if both continue to win out.\u00a0 All in all, Baylor<\/span> is the class of the Big 12, because they play better defense than the Frogs.\u00a0 Things can change if the injury bug hits as it can, especially if one on the top quarterbacks in the league goes down.<\/h6>\n

West Virginia<\/span> could keep up with Baylor<\/span>.\u00a0 Seth Russell\u2019s legs chewed up the ground as his passing to Corey Coleman (three scores) filled the airways.\u00a0 Russell became the first Baylor<\/span> QB to throw for 300 yards and run for another 100 plus since their Heisman winner a few years back.\u00a0 Baylor<\/span> again get their 60 plus points.\u00a0 West Virginia<\/span>\u2018s season is in disarray and Coach Dana Holgorsen need a win and in two weeks after their off week.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0They go to Fort Worth to play TCU<\/span>.\u00a0 It might be awhile for them to taste victory.\u00a0 \u201cPoor Mountaineers.\u201d You can join the club with \u201cPoor Kansas<\/span>.\u201d<\/h6>\n

The Oklahoma<\/span> Sooners came to play yesterday and Baker Mayfield tossed 5 first half touchdowns as it was no contest from the start.\u00a0 Kansas State<\/span> was pitiful and needs to regroup. I wouldn\u2019t want to play them next.<\/h6>\n

Texas Christian<\/span> might be the 2nd best offensive in the conference and I<\/span>owa S<\/span>tate<\/span> was a step slow and a few pounds light in trying to stop Trevone Boykin and his crew.\u00a0 The Frogs, as said above, have to improve their defense.\u00a0 Trips to OU and OSU will be tough ones to win.\u00a0 Both the Pokes and Sooners have better defenses.\u00a0 Can TCU outscore them?\u00a0 Maybe.\u00a0 That TCU passing attack is an A+ with quite possibility the best player in the country in Boykin in command.<\/h6>\n

Kansas<\/span> played a competitive conference game with the Red Raiders and showed some improvement.\u00a0\u00a0Lack of \u00a0effort also showed that Texas Tech<\/span>, at 5-2, must play better in Norman next week or they will get their behinds spanked by the Sooners.\u00a0 I lost some good feeling toward Tech in Lawrence.<\/h6>\n
