In my eight team bracket there are different qualifiers to be considered as a playoff team. In my format, conference games will mean so much more than non-conference games but SOS (strength-of-schedule) will be used to place you in the bracket if your team is qualified. No made up stats like “Game Control” will be used to judge or eliminate bubble teams.

The one new addition to my system is an Oversite Committee with 11 members that will be elected by their Conferences to represent them (Conferences must elect new Committee representative each year.) After the Playoff Committee has completed the final rankings of the year. This Oversite Committe will look over the final rankings and eliminate bubble teams that don’t meet the true eye test. This Oversite Committee will use SOS (strength-of-schedule), the final AP and Coaches Polls rankings, and also use the old BCS formula to determined strong possible at larges . This Oversite Committee will then select five to ten teams that are possible (At-Larges), which then the Playoff Committee will select one too three teams from that group to play in the Playoffs. When the Oversite Committee has released its teams, the other bubble teams that missed the cut will be known immediately. This system will try to eliminate Conference and Media Bias.

                                                     Automatic Births

Power 5 = Five Conference Champions no matter the record will have automatic births.

Non-P5 = The Highest Ranked Non-Power Five Conference Champion can make it into the field “if” and only “if” they are ranked in the T0P 15.
