It has become the culture at Lubbock for the Texas Tech Red Raiders to have a potent offense and a very suspect defense.\u00a0\u00a0Suspect is being kind as\u00a0Tech has not had a winning conference record this decade and do not blame the offense..\u00a0 Mediocre is another word that can be tossed around for the men in West Texas and this year could be more of the same, yet a possible means to an end of Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury’s tenure\u00a0at this school.<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

 <\/p>\n

The schedule\u00a0is tough\u00a0even with \u00a0the non-conference\u00a0weakling\u00a0Lamar University\u00a0on it .\u00a0 Ole Miss\u00a0(in Houston) and the Houston Cougars (Lubbock)\u00a0will give\u00a0Tech all they want. League\u00a0wins will be difficult to manufacture when you are just a tad less than most all the\u00a0conference mates\u00a0you play but two (Kansas and Baylor).\u00a0This 2018 schedule will test\u00a0Tech to the max and I cannot see more than two or three wins, if that.\u00a0 Texas Tech will not field a good football team again this year.<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

The shadows will be long come late November at Jones Stadium and it is a good thing the season ending final is\u00a0at Jerry Jones World in the Metroplex against Baylor.\u00a0 Tickets for that season ending game\u00a0should decide\u00a08th place in the final conference standings.\u00a0 The loser just one above\u00a0poor Kansas.\u00a0 If you want to attend, please step right up and buy your ducats.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

It would be an advantage for the Red Raiders if they were a tad better, getting Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia at home. But not this year.\u00a0\u00a0 Mark\u00a0down those three as home loses.\u00a0Look for a\u00a0not as good (as from the past) offense to put up less points this season\u00a0and the defense still getting run over, giving up plenty of yards to their opponents on the ground.\u00a0 Yes, I understand that I am going against\u00a0smart money\u00a0with this team and the\u00a0stoppers. \u00a0Many think with ten defensive starters coming back Tech will be improved here\u00a0and be a bowl team with a better defense. I am not in that group.<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Kingsbury need to have a winning year and improve on his 6-7 record of 2017.\u00a0 It will not be\u00a0easy for the\u00a038 year old leader of men.\u00a0 \u00a0I do not see it sports fans.<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n
