This is my fourth pre-season look at the Kansas Jayhawks and as in the previous three, the perennial\u00a0bottom squatter in the\u00a0 Big Twelve Conference is looking at another dismal season of losing.<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Given Jayhawk head coach David Beaty made it through the winter and spring not getting fired, this\u00a0will be the final year of\u00a0(his)\u00a0a historic losing period.\u00a0 Sure, the losing started before\u00a0he became the\u00a0coach and could extend down the road with a newer “loser” coach next season, but at\u00a03-33 and only one conference win in three\u00a0years, KU can claim the\u00a0downtrodden team of the Big Twelve.\u00a0\u00a0 The fact is\u00a0that KU is bad…..no, awful, and not worthy of being in a Power Five conference in this sport of football.\u00a0 The program is not one of a former powerhouse waiting for an infusion of something that will put it on the straight and narrow (Mark Mangino is not coming back Jayhawk fans). It is a program that is DOA+…..that is DEAD ON ARRIVAL before birth.\u00a0 You cannot be as bad as they have become even if you try.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is one thing certain about this Big Twelve race this year. It is not that Oklahoma is the best team, or Texas is going to make a strong run (which I think will happen), or Kansas State will be a bitch to deal with on the field.\u00a0 It is that Kansas will finish in tenth place\u00a0in the conference, and they will own the cellar all by themselves. They have no competition not to finish last.\u00a0 If they win a conference game (hey Longhorns, you game?) I would not only be shocked, I might drop dead that Saturday night.<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n
