It is scary watching the Oklahoma City Thunder play tonight against the Phoenix Suns in Arizona.\u00a0 OKC, as usual, against an inferior team is struggling with the Suns, losing by seven with a minute left in the first half.<\/p>\n
I watch all Thunder games, either in the home arena in OKC as a season ticket holder, or as a viewer on local or national television.\u00a0 I have come to some conclusions and they are mine only.<\/p>\n
OKC is top heavy with salary and for what they are paying for players, the team is not efficient in dolling out the dollars.\u00a0 They are stacked with so-called superstar players that, as tonight is showing, play with a sense of “we are ok so we can play shitty basketball”.\u00a0 The Suns\u00a0 for example, are a young team, not as good on paper or in the standing, that play the game correctly, in that they are schooling OKC’s stars tonight on their play and most importantly, their hustle.<\/p>\n
Lack of defense by two stars, Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony, is telling.\u00a0 Giving the Suns almost seventy point in tonight’s first half is not acceptable.\u00a0 These superstars do not seem\u00a0care right now against the lesser teams of the league.\u00a0 Been that way all season.<\/p>\n
Russell Westbrook, a great player, hurts the team with his shooting, three point shots especially.\u00a0 Fact of the matter, the Thunder, except for Steven Adams, take too many long shots\u00a0.\u00a0 This team plays, matter of factually, dumb basketball, with regard to shot selection.<\/p>\n
Get the point?\u00a0 I can continue. But let us say that OKC has to win some games or when the playoffs come they are not making them or if they do it will be\u00a0one series and go fishing.\u00a0 Lose tonight, probably lose tomorrow night and OKC is about to cook their goose.<\/p>\n
Think good thoughts about this team?\u00a0 No.\u00a0 You can lose with a payroll that does not make the team look silly.\u00a0 OKC is not a good team sports fans.<\/p>\n
