There are other favorite films of the season that for some would be in their list if they had one.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #339966;\">The descriptions of the movies come from the site: http:\/\/www.gamesradar.com\/50-best-christmas-movies\/ and are the reviews of Simon Kinnear. \u00a0The reviews for the movie &#8220;One Magic Christmas&#8221; and &#8220;It Happened on\u00a05th Avenue&#8221;\u00a0are mine and anything in red print also are my words. All permutations are here, from grand romantic gestures (cue card-laden Andrew Lincoln in the snow) to quiet family bonds (Laura Linney and her mentally ill brother), to the raucous singletons&#8217; Christmas of Bill Nighy and Gregor Fisher spending the big day together getting drunk and watching porn.<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #a82e2e;\">(A favorite movie of mine regardless of the Christmas theme, this movie is a mess to some. \u00a0Yet I always love\u00a0what this director\u00a0puts into his\u00a0movies and the theme of love\u00a0here has never been put on the screen better in the past twenty-five years)<\/span><\/h6>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/?attachment_id=5064\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5064\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5064 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/2206949.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"269\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/2206949.jpg 269w, https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/2206949-202x300.jpg 202w, https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/2206949-212x315.jpg 212w, https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/2206949-40x60.jpg 40w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 269px) 100vw, 269px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c23b3b;\"><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Millions\u00a0 (2004)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>The Film: Danny Boyle&#8217;s modern-day parable revolves around two brothers who discover a bag of bank notes that are about to become worthless at the end of the year &#8211; do they spend, spend, spend or give the cash to charity?<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>Most Christmassy Moment: When the robbers ransack the family home for the money (which they&#8217;d originally stolen), dad Ronald (James Nesbitt) decides the best way to stop them getting it is a spending splurge on Christmas pressies.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #a82e2e;\">(Another Top ten movie in any genre, Millions is a classic by Danny Boyle. \u00a0Wonderful in every aspect)<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #a82e2e; font-size: large;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/?attachment_id=5076\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5076\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5076 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/5674517-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"366\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h5><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Joyeux No\u00ebl (2005):<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>The Film: The story behind one of the famous legends of World War One, as soldiers from opposing trenches agree to a Christmas Day truce to bury their dead and play football.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>Most Christmassy Moment: The ceasefire begins after German private Sprink (Benno F\u00fcrmann) sings Silent Night and is accompanied by a Scottish bagpipe player from across No Man&#8217;s Land.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #a82e2e;\">(What is says about war, nationalism, love, Jesus Christ, and finally, the similarity of all believers of the world is an important message. Presents &#8211; check. Children &#8211; oh, bugger. Don&#8217;t worry, folks. Abandoned Kevin (Macauley Culkin) is too busy reinventing Christmas as a child&#8217;s playground of bed jumping and burglar bashing.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>Most Christmassy Moment: The Kenosha Kickers, led by jovial Gus Polinski (John Candy) offer Kevin&#8217;s mom Kate (Catherine O&#8217;Hara) a lift home on Christmas Eve so she can be with her son on the big day.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #a82e2e;\">(<span id=\"selectionBoundary_1418850149689_1081926750484854\"><\/span>The funniest Christmas move (with respect to The Christmas Story), the little man showed why he could act and the director showed why he made the most popular movies in his short time. \u00a0Hughes was a genius and Culkin was as good a child actor as Temple, Rooney and that little boy in the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #a82e2e;\">Champ.)<\/span><\/h6>\n<h6><\/h6>\n<h6><\/h6>\n<h6><a href=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/?attachment_id=5067\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5067\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5067 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1355645.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1355645.jpg 400w, https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1355645-229x300.jpg 229w, https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1355645-240x315.jpg 240w, https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1355645-46x60.jpg 46w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #a82e2e;\">It&#8217;s A Wonderful Life (1946):<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>The Film: Frank Capra&#8217;s fable of redemption, parallel universes and small-town life has been canonized as a feel good classic. But its tale of a suicidal man (James Stewart) saved only by divine intervention is also darker than most remember, making it perfect seasonal fare whatever your view of life.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>Most Christmassy Moment: George Bailey returns home on Christmas Eve to find that friends and family have bailed out the &#8220;greatest man&#8221; in town, while Clarence the second-class angel finally gets his wings<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #a82e2e;\"><br \/>\n(The best film of the 40&#8217;s and that is saying much. \u00a0Jimmy Stewart was never better and the movie brings us back to what the meaning of life is all about. \u00a0If you don&#8217;t believe in this movie you don&#8217;t believe in goodness and God.)<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/?attachment_id=5069\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5069\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5069 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1624980.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"615\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1624980.jpg 400w, https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1624980-195x300.jpg 195w, https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1624980-205x315.jpg 205w, https:\/\/fredsportsextra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1624980-39x60.jpg 39w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #a82e2e;\">Miracle On 34th Street (1947):<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>The Film: Susan Walker (Natalie Wood) is convinced that Macy&#8217;s department store Santa Kris Kringle (Edmund Gwen) is the real thing. The authorities aren&#8217;t so sure, and start court proceedings to have him locked up.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>Most Christmassy Moment: Susan is sure her hunch about Kringle is right when he effortlessly slips into Dutch while speaking to a Jewish refugee girl.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #a82e2e;\">(A classic that has to be included in any Top Ten of the best Christmas movies. \u00a0Watch it every Holiday season. Before he knows it, he is living with the actual home owners.<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Most Christmassy Moment:\u00a0 When Mike tells Mary remind him to nail up the board in the back fence because next winter McKeever will be coming in through the front door.<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #800000;\">(Wealth is not what it is all about.
