Texas<\/span> was game Saturday in the Cotton Bowl but the Longhorns came up on the short end of the stick as Oklahoma proved that Baker Mayfield can deliver the win as the Sooners won 29-24.\u00a0 Mayfield, the country\u2019s best player, hit tight end Mark Andrews for a 59 yard touchdown pass with a little over seven minutes as Mike Stoops defense preserved the win.\u00a0 OU goes to 6-1 and 2-1 and Texas drops to 3-3 and 2-1.<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Oklahoma State, as expected, routed Baylor<\/span> in Stillwater, 59-16.\u00a0 OSU is back on track, beating the Bears for the first time in four years.\u00a0 Mason Rudolph passed for over 400 yards with three touchdown passes and he also ran for another score. James Washington had over 250 yards receiving in the win.<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

West Virginia held home field in a come from behind 46-35 victory in Morgantown.\u00a0 The start of the slide of Tech again? Probably.<\/strong><\/h6>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kansas State fell at home to TCU 26-6 in an all-afternoon rain delayed contest.\u00a0 The Frogs displayed another fine defensive performance and continue to lead the conference race.<\/strong><\/h6>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Iowa State did their duty and beat down Kansas.\u00a0 The Cyclones are improving is noticed by this writer.\u00a0 Things are looking good in Ames.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n

    Kansas State hosts Oklahoma and the Wildcats are not a good matchup for Baker Mayfield and OU. Sooners win 34 to 20.\u00a0 As with the game above, OU could roll as they did two years ago in the Little Apple. A mismatch here.<\/h6>\n

    West Virginia will meet a better Baylor than one might expect.\u00a0 Mountaineers win but it will be close.\u00a0 Baylor loses by two scores 52 to 39.<\/h6>\n
