Russell Westbrook has a decision to make and that final announcement will happen before October 16th when the Oklahoma City Thunder\u2019s extension offer will be agreed upon by the 2017 NBA MVP.\u00a0 The deal\u00a0 ($207 million for five years)\u00a0will be the richest in the history of the Association and keep Westbrook playing on Reno Street for the next\u00a0six years.<\/p>\n

In a comment today at the media day for the Thunder, Westbrook was\u00a0asked if he\u2019ll sign the extension: \u201cMan, it\u2019s been a long, long summer.\u201d Reiterates \u201cThis is the place I want to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the \u201cnew\u201d power team in the Association, OKC boosts three major superstars on their roster.\u00a0 Along with Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony give the Thunder a better than fighting chance to challenge the NBA champs, the Golden State Warriors.<\/p>\n

The prospect of having George and Anthony\u00a0resign with OKC for future years only increases with Westbrook\u2019s long term commitment to the team on the south plains.<\/p>\n

Latest news is that Dwayne Wade, the great all-star that just was cut loose from the Chicago Bulls, is contemplating a move to four cities for the current season. OKC is one of those cities and his chances of playing with the Thunder is at least fifty fifty.<\/p>\n
