\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>At 12:01 am on July 1, 2017, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook can sign a five year extension with the team\u00a0in the range of\u00a0$220-240\u00a0million, making this\u00a0past season’s Most Valuable Player in the NBA the highest paid\u00a0hoopster in the history of the league.\u00a0 Westbrook would then be under contract for the next six years, as the extension would be tacked on to his current contract that ends next summer.\u00a0 Rumors through the media\u00a0grapevine says that the possibility that Westbrook does sign the extension are extremely high.\u00a0 In the event that the extension is not signed before the season begins, the chance that Westbrook is traded before the February deadline next year also a strong possibility.<\/h4>\n
