ESPN is in\u00a0a losing proposition, not only for the network, but for the fan.\u00a0\u00a0Yes,\u00a0the network that charges every cable subscriber in the country over $9 a month to view their programing on their<\/span> <\/strong>various platforms, such as ESPN, ESPN Classic, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, and\u00a0the Longhorn Network, is in a mess.\u00a0 In a world of hurt in the tune of billions of dollars of\u00a0lost revenue a year\u00a0to go along with their payout of billions of dollars to televise such programing as professional sports, NCAA sports, and anything else that is shown on their channels, the situation\u00a0is not good.\u00a0 With the loss of over twelve million subscribers in the past six years and the increase per subscriber of\u00a0 a monthly cost\u00a0from $4.69 to $9.06, ESPN is losing more than a billion dollars a year for it’s parent companies ABC and Walt<\/strong> Disney.\u00a0 Do the math if you don’t believe me.\u00a0 This dog is not going to hunt in a few years as the younger folks in this country are turning off cable as fast as they can.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

Cable is dying and ESPN will suffer at the current setup. The fact that one hundred or so ESPN people fired this week is just a beginning.\u00a0 Matter of fact, you don’t need ESPN, ESPN Sportscenter, or ESPN anything for basic news and video of the sports world. The net is where it is at, for information,\u00a0such as replays, scores, and commentary. No need for ESPN opinions.\u00a0\u00a0They are a dine a dozen.\u00a0The millennials do not care.\u00a0\u00a0 Any one with money to buy a Appleby’s dinner once a month can be just as viable in this world by setting up their own little sports site on the net, and have thousands of readers and such to give you all the information you can digest.\u00a0 With thousands of sites just\u00a0 like mine, the way people get their information is and will continue to develop.\u00a0 So any fired ESPN employee that wants to give their opinions or views on sports please let me know and I will let you write for me and I will pay you absolutely nothing.\u00a0 Sports fans, enjoy your high priced ESPN.\u00a0 And remember those $200 million dollar contracts that the superstars are going to get in the future. You have helped by\u00a0paying your nine dollars a month for that to happen.<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n
