Washington and Ohio State disappoint and Clemson and Alabama prove they can play some serious defense<\/span><\/h4>\n

I got through the first touchdown after half-time in the first National Semi-final as the good old boys from Alabama took a commanding 24-7 lead over a out-matched group of “Dogs” from the Pacific Northwest, the Washington Huskies.\u00a0 I cannot say for a fact that Alabama is much better than a very good defensive team but I can sure say that the best of the west coast Power Five conference was just not\u00a0very good.\u00a0 I don’t know if it was just tonight and the opponent, or that the committee that “chose” this less than powerhouse team was in fact enamored by the Huskies, but as the saying goes, Washington sucked big time tonight.<\/strong><\/h6>\n

 <\/p>\n

As for the Clemson Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes,\u00a0it held my interest\u00a0through the first\u00a0half.\u00a0 I\u00a0turned that one off to watch some NBA basketball (as I am so tired of listening to the talking heads that bloviate at the half of games about these darn playoff games).\u00a0 I did tune back in to see if Ohio State could break through with some points a few times in the second thirty minutes\u00a0but actually gave up\u00a0this less than stellar game.\u00a0 Again, the committee choose a team in Ohio State, not even the winner of their conference, to play against a very good defensive team in Clemson. I will give the Tigers credit as they did score 31 on the Bucks, and proved they are as good as they were last year.\u00a0 But for college football watching, the night was a bore.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h6>\n

I truly hope the National Title game is watchable, but after tonight, it would not surprise me to see Clemson put the Tide on the rails and beat the crap out of them.\u00a0 Offensively, Clemson is the better team and defensively, it is a wash.\u00a0 I am\u00a0all in for\u00a0Clemson in the title game. And\u00a0it might not be close sports fans.\u00a0 Clemson 26 and Alabama 17<\/strong><\/h6>\n
