YOU DON’T TALK ABOUT OTHER TEAMS PLAYERS AND YOU DON’T\u00a0COMPLAIN ABOUT\u00a0THE OFFICIALS AS THE HEAD COACH-PATTERSON IS THE ONE LACKING SPORTSMANSHIP<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Comments made by Texas Christian head football coach Gary Patterson after his Horned Frogs were beaten by the Oklahoma Sooners Saturday showed pettiness.\u00a0 It is one thing to complain about the Big Twelve officials that called the game, but to throw in added ranting about the opposing quarterback, was in fact, less than professional.\u00a0 Patterson was out-of-line, by Big Twelve rules, on griping about the\u00a0calls of\u00a0the game.\u00a0 His words\u00a0concerning Oklahoma\u00a0quarterback Baker Mayfield were not only\u00a0wrong, but\u00a0in fact, showed a lack of class of the veteran football coach.\u00a0 Matter of fact, opposing coaches are\u00a0not to call out players of other teams, no matter\u00a0the situation.\u00a0 Patterson acted like a\u00a0big baby in his remarks.\u00a0 Fines by the Big Twelve\u00a0should come\u00a0this week and disdain by Oklahoma\u00a0head\u00a0coach Bob Stoops is surely\u00a0noted.<\/span><\/h6>\n

As for the officiating,\u00a0the TCU coach\u00a0specifically didn’t like an intentional grounding call against TCU QB Kenny Hill on the last drive. The referees decided it was unwarranted originally before reversing the call after\u00a0Bob Stoops\u00a0<\/span>had a tantrum.\u00a0<\/span><\/h6>\n

In his post game presser, Patterson\u00a0\u00a0believed his quarterback\u00a0(Hill) didn\u2019t have anybody to throw it to. “In my estimation, he got hit. I don\u2019t know how he could tell he couldn\u2019t throw it to him.\u201d<\/span><\/h6>\n

Through replay, the officials got the call right and Patterson is complaining because the right call was finally made?\u00a0 Weak Coach, very weak.<\/span><\/h6>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Amazing. We can\u2019t say anything but they can say whatever they want to. I don\u2019t really care right now if the commissioner, if they don\u2019t like what I think about the officials.\u00a0Talk about sportsmanship in this game. I have a quarterback who writes a whole article about me, how I treated him. But I can’t say anything about officials. Bottom line, I wasn’t happy with the officiating.<\/span><\/h6>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Patterson was referring to Mayfield on sportsmanship.\u00a0\u00a0Mayfield, a former recruit that TCU had promised a scholarship to play football for the Frogs, didn’t happen.\u00a0\u00a0The TCU coach\u00a0had\u00a0gone back on his word and\u00a0took the\u00a0ride to\u00a0Fort Worth away and Mayfield showed his\u00a0displeasure of a\u00a0coach that had lied to him.\u00a0 Want to talk about sportsmanship Coach\u00a0Patterson?\u00a0 Your comments last\u00a0night\u00a0lacked that in spades.\u00a0 Who the frick are\u00a0you to talk sportsmanship\u00a0Coach?\u00a0 Who is the adult here and who is the kid?\u00a0 You\u00a0promise a\u00a0high school player a place to\u00a0play and when someone you think\u00a0 might be better\u00a0comes along you\u00a0take it away.\u00a0\u00a0 And now you have the balls to complain because you got your ass beat by this quarterback?<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

There was some lack of sportsmanship in Fort Worth yesterday and it was displayed\u00a0by Gary Patterson.\u00a0 Coach, look inside yourself. You\u00a0were out-of-line.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n
