A brief look at the Big Twelve in Week\u00a0Two of the 2016 football season<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The Big Twelve conference took a hit this week as the Frogs of Texas Christian were chugged down the throats of the Razorbacks of Arkansas in double overtime;\u00a0 the Cowboys of Oklahoma State were screwed\u00a0on the last timed play of the game\u00a0by the\u00a0incompetence of the MAC game\u00a0and Big Twelve\u00a0replay officials; and the Sun Devils of Arizona State showed how\u00a0Sparky’s\u00a0pitchfork ran through and over a hapless Texas Red Raider defense.\u00a0 Throw in a\u00a0bird\u00a0chewing\u00a0by another MAC team, the Ohio Bobcats,\u00a0as the Kansas Jayhawks were lunch to these felines and\u00a0you have four Big Twelve teams floundering in mederocarcy.<\/h5>\n

The fact of the matter is that TCU is not what some thought they might be, good enough to win the conference (Include moi in that group); Oklahoma State can\u00a0come up\u00a0a very flat performance in a game that they got hosed and should have won with ease; and\u00a0Texas Tech has no chance of stopping anybody with the worse defense in the country.\u00a0\u00a0Getting to the bottom feeders of the conference,\u00a0Kansas is a loser again this year and are not any good while Iowa State is not much better, showing little in\u00a0a loss to in-state rival Iowa.\u00a0 In total, we had a disaster in the Big Twelve in Week Two.<\/h5>\n

The Games<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Oklahoma State 27\u00a0home loss to Central Michigan\u00a030\u00a0at Stillwater:\u00a0 OSU won the game in regulation by three but game officials gave the Chips an untimed down on an officials error and the Pokes get beat.\u00a0 Central Michigan is an average MAC team and gave the home team all they wanted.\u00a0 Blame the loss on the MAC officials and the Big 12 replay men as they missed the last timed down of the game.\u00a0 We all know what happened.\u00a0 I do not blame Coach Mike\u00a0Gundy as others do.\u00a0 OSU won the game within the rules of the game, no matter how Gundy seemed to allow that final play\u00a0to happen.\u00a0 OSU didn’t play well but that happens.\u00a0 The NCAA is a bogus organization anyway so what’s new?\u00a0 There will be a reading class in most coaching staffs across the nation this week.\u00a0 Know the fricken rules of the game Coaches….you get paid too much to get beat and not throw a stinking fit.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

West Virginia 38 home\u00a0win over Youngstown State\u00a021 in Morgantown:\u00a0 Late scores make the score look better than it really was in a Mountaineer win. Not impressed with the home team here.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

 <\/p>\n

Kansas 21 home loss to Ohio in Lawrence:\u00a0 Kansas could not put two wins together in a row.\u00a0 There is hope in Lawrence as the weakness of the league might allow the Jayhawks to some up and peck a win away from, say, an Iowa State or Texas Tech. Yes, Tech’s defense can’t stop Lubbock High School.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

 <\/p>\n

Baylor 40 home win over SMU 13\u00a0in Waco:\u00a0 Baylor did not look good for most of this one and that is bad news for the Bears.\u00a0 Not impressed with Baylor.\u00a0 They are not winning a championship playing the Ponies like this.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

 <\/p>\n

Texas 41 home win over UTEP\u00a07\u00a0in Austin:\u00a0 Texas put the Miners away in the second half.\u00a0 Another win for Charley Strong’s Horns and that is always good.\u00a0 Texas was not impressive but that is all right,\u00a0for now.\u00a0\u00a0 They are young and will continue to improve.\u00a0 But OU won’t be like the OU last year.\u00a0 Beware Horns.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

 <\/p>\n

TCU 38 and Arkansas 41 in a home loss in Fort Worth:\u00a0 I was not high on the Razorbacks and now I am not high on the Frogs.\u00a0 This team has to find a defense or OU will get 60 on them in a couple of weeks.\u00a0 Right now, TCU is not playing like a championship team.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

 <\/p>\n

Oklahoma 59\u00a0in a home win\u00a0over UL Monroe 17\u00a0in Norman:\u00a0 A sharp 42-0 half-time performance tells us that if OU is to beat Ohio State this Saturday the Sooners will have to get Joe Mixon in the mix more than Coach Bob Stoops has in the first two games. Monroe is bad while OU did what they were suppose to do in the rout.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

Iowa State 3 road\u00a0loss at Iowa 42\u00a0in Iowa City:\u00a0 Iowa State is bad. Expected.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

 <\/p>\n

Texas Tech 55 in a road\u00a0loss\u00a0to Arizona State 68\u00a0at Tempe:\u00a0 Tech can score, yes.\u00a0 Tech cannot stop anyone, yes.\u00a0 Coach Kliff\u00a0Kingsbury is going to get fired sooner than later, yes, most definitely.<\/span><\/h6>\n
