I have been hard on the football program at Nebraska in the past year.\u00a0 The powers to be\u00a0in\u00a0Lincoln have taken a once proud historic all-time successful football\u00a0program to a middle-of- the-road mediocre bunch that has little success nationally and not much more in their\u00a0current home in the Big Ten Conference. What I said last year:<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

All good for the money.\u00a0 And all good to get out of the Big 12 so the Univ. of Texas can\u2019t give you grief in the decisions of that league.\u00a0 And hurray for getting into a conference that has a higher standard of student and institution.\u00a0 Great Nebraska! Great Cornhuskers!\u00a0 You have ruined your football program in regards to national relevance and winning football. Your leader, the great Dr. Tom Osborne has given the state of Nebraska the same thing the state of Iowa has\u2026\u2026 the state of Indiana\u2026\u2026. New Jersey and Maryland.\u00a0 Yes, you got it.\u00a0 A bad football team that a sold-out Memorial Stadium in Lincoln does not deserve.\u00a0 Your move, your loss.\u00a0 Thank you Coach Osborne. You were it at one time in Nebraska.\u00a0 Now you are nothing. Your football program is a loser as has most of your athletic program has been for decades.\u00a0 Yes, you can run track, but can\u2019t hit a shot in basketball.\u00a0 Enjoy losing Huskers.\u00a0 Losing is not becoming of a once great program.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<\/blockquote>\n
With the expansion of the Big Twelve just around the corner, rumblings coming out of Huskerland of taking a once dominate program back home to a place where BIG RED football would again become not just the BIG RED of the North but the BIG RED of the BIG TWELVE. (pardon my Sooner readers, no disrespect intended). Nebraska, you have lost it, and with loving arms extended (just ask Coach Bill Snyder of Kansas State), it is time to tell the great Tom Osborn and the academic leaders of the Univ. of Nebraska-Lincoln, it is time to get back to prominence.\u00a0 When was the last time Nebraska football was though of in Top Five terms?\u00a0 Top Ten?\u00a0 You get it Nebraska folks?\u00a0 You need to heed the day. Now is the time to get back to winning National Championships, Heisman Trophy’s, and have\u00a0first team All-Americans.\u00a0 It is not hard to imagine the Huskers playing their long-time rivals. Trips to Norman, Sooner visits to Lincoln?\u00a0 How fun was that, win or lose?\u00a0 Bringing in the Wildcats and Jayhawks and Cowboys to play\u00a0significant games. A chance to put it to the Texas Longhorns?\u00a0 Are you kidding me?\u00a0 You moved out of the conference because of those people in Austin?<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

Now is the time.\u00a0\u00a0Probably won’t ever come again.\u00a0 The Big Twelve would take you back in a heartbeat.\u00a0 No questions asked.\u00a0 Does Husker football actually mean something more than an afterthought?\u00a0 Sure they do, Husker fans.\u00a0 Go on and fantasize that you will win it all in the Big Ten.\u00a0A Natty?\u00a0 Dream on Husker Nation.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n
