Photo Credit: ESPN<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>Baker Mayfield and the Sooner offense was a pickle for the Cowboy defense as a 30 point second quarter put the Pokes to the open range.\u00a0 Mayfield, the best quarterback at OU since Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford, completed 17 of 25 passes with five drops to go along with eleven rushes for 77 yards and a rushing touchdown. Mayfield threw two touchdown passes.\u00a0 OSU&#8217;s Mason Rudolph played only one series, throwing a interception, as the staring signal caller wasn&#8217;t good enough to go at game time.\u00a0 J. W. Walsh played another fine game for the Cowboys, hitting 25 of 42 passes for 325 yards and two passing scores. As for OU, they continue to play at the highest level and have as good a chance to win the National Title this year as anyone in the playoffs.\u00a0 With the return of quality players next year, OU will be right there when the pre-season ranking come out in August 2016.\u00a0 The big game in September against Ohio State will be just that, huge. But as we know, a win or a loss in September, even October, doesn&#8217;t put you in a no win situation with regards to a National Title.\u00a0 You have to give it up to OU and The Ohio State University for playing each other.\u00a0 That is what great programs do, play the best when given the opportunity.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>Big 12 Recap<\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #800080;\">TCU<\/span>\u00a0beat the <span style=\"color: #339966;\">Baylor<\/span> Bears in a home win in Fort Worth Friday night.\u00a0 A cold driving rain storm limited both offensives with the game being won in 2 overtimes by the Frogs 28-21. Both teams finish with 10-2 records and tie with Oklahoma State at 7-2 in conference for a three\u00a0way runner-up to OU.\u00a0 Trevone Boykin was the difference maker in OT\u00a0as he threw the winning touchdown pass.\u00a0 It was a bitter loss for Baylor and Coach Art Briles.\u00a0 Expect Baylor to represent the Big 12 in the Sugar Bowl and TCU in the Alamo or Russell Athletic\u00a0Bowl.\u00a0 It should be the other way around if you want my opinion.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Iowa<\/span> State<\/span> lost the final time in the Paul Rhoad&#8217;s era at Ames.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000080;\"> West<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000080;\">Virginia<\/span> was much the better team and Dana Holgorsen&#8217;s November upswing for his Mountaineers.\u00a0 After winning the first three the men from\u00a0Morgantown lost\u00a0four straight, to the Sooners, Cowboys, Bears and Horned Frogs.\u00a0With the\u00a0balance of the schedule, they have won four straight and end the season in Manhattan with Kansas State\u00a0this\u00a0Saturday.\u00a0 Expect\u00a0a nice bowl\u00a0for them and a final 8-4 regular season.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Texas Tech\u00a0<\/span>was too much for the Tea Sippers in Austin,\u00a0dropping\u00a0the<span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"> Texas<\/span> Longhorns to a seventh loss in eleven games.\u00a0 No bowl for UT and look for Charlie Strong to\u00a0be out at Texas.\u00a0He&#8217;s had enough of the Texas experience.\u00a0 As for Tech, Head Coach Cliff Kingsbury got a significant win over the Horns as the Red Raiders continue to play solid offensive.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Kansas State<\/span> was a winner over Poor <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Kansas<\/span>. The Jayhawks finish winless.\u00a0 Poor Kansas.\u00a0 As for Coach Bill Snyder at State, he might think about retiring again.
