It was a very good week for Baylor<\/span> and Oklahoma<\/span> in big boy Big 12 football Saturday.\u00a0The Sooners, with thanks to Stephen Parker and his nice volleyball block at the goal line on a two-point conversion with little time on the clock, nipped a game TCU<\/span> squad\u00a030-29 in Norman.\u00a0 Baylor was marvelous in their 45-35 beating of Oklahoma State<\/span>, giving the Bears their first significant win of the season.<\/h6>\n

I<\/span>owa S<\/span>tate’s<\/span> head coach made a fatal mistake and now Paul Rhoades is looking for a new job.\u00a0 A terrible coaching decision, running the ball when a couple of “knees” win you a ball game.\u00a0 That was a decision that gets you fired.\u00a0\u00a0The Cyclones now go on the open market to find a diamond in the rough.\u00a0 Good luck.\u00a0 As for K<\/span>ansas<\/span>, poor Kansas as T<\/span>exas T<\/span>ech pasted the hapless Jayhawks.<\/h6>\n

OU\/TCU:\u00a0 Gary Patterson is my kind of coach. His decision to go for the win after their final\u00a0touchdown with little left on the clock\u00a0was ballsy.\u00a0 I remember back in the day when Florida State’s Bobby Bowden brought his team to Norman, OK to face the Sooners, a national power at the time.\u00a0\u00a0Bowden had just come from West Virginia and the Seminoles played the Sooners to a one point game with little time on the clock.\u00a0 The Noles had just scored and Bowden decided to go for the win and not kick the extra point for a sure tie. There were no overtimes in college football at the time.\u00a0 Bowden’s two point conversion failed and OU eked out a one point win.\u00a0 After the game Bowden wanted no talk of moral victory and told the press that. Same with Patterson. He saw that it was a\u00a0good time\u00a0to win the game on the two-point conversion and it was there for the taking.\u00a0\u00a0Except for the great play by OU’s Parker, OU loses.\u00a0 TCU is a powerful team, a powerful program with a winner as a coach.\u00a0\u00a0As for OU, they went into a shell in the 2nd half when Baker Mayfield went down by a dirty play by a TCU defender and basically tried to run out the final two quarters.\u00a0 Give it up to Samaji Perine for his close to 200 yards rushing and his last long score.\u00a0 Perine is a money back.<\/h6>\n
