As I watched \u201cThe Great Santini\u201d yesterday (2.25.2015) I again was taken away with the greatness of Robert Duvall\u2019s acting skill. \u00a0In a small movie of 1979, one that wasn\u2019t even slated for the big screen if it wasn\u2019t noted in \u201cair plane\u201d viewing by some top critics (Rex Reed for one) Duvall gave the performance of his life, one that was duplicated in the great \u201cApocalypse Now\u201d. \u00a0\u201cLonesome Dove\u201d and the various westerns were met with rave reviews as Duvall\u2019 body of work is second to none. \u201cA Family Thing\u201d, another little movie, shows the a different side of Duvall on film. \u00a0He is one actor that keeps producing as with his 7th Oscar nomination in 2014 in \u201cThe Judge.\u201d <\/span><\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Many years ago, I made a list of the world\u2019s greatest living actors, and Robert Duvall fell on my list at number seven. Not the highest on the list, but for sure, making my list shows his significance in this profession of acting. Duvall has given me some of my most favorite memories in the cinema, and as has been one of the most important, needless to say, faces that have graced the screen, in movies, or TV, our time. He died today at age 95.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

My first lake on Duvall was in \u201cTo Kill A Mockingbird,\u201d playing Boo Ridley, a mentally defidient man that saves the children in that magnificant movie.\u00a0 I was only ten and that film was a great one.\u00a0 Duvall, stole his scenes with the likes of Gregory Peck.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n
