Knowing a little about getting a psychological advantage in sport, Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault\u2019s comment Saturday night in preparation for their first play-in game Wednesday night on the road was not positive in any which way.\u00a0 And I hope the Wednesday opponent does not hear the comment.\u00a0 OKC hopes to win but do they think they will win?\u00a0 Here is what Coach said:\u00a0 \u201c<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em>We just want to know who it is so we can get to work,\u201d Daigneault said of the <\/strong>Thunder\u2019s play-in opponent. \u201cIt\u2019ll be interesting to see who it ends up being. We\u2019ll have to prep for the other side of the play-in bracket in the case that we can win the game. But in terms of preference, we\u2019re excited for the opportunity. We\u2019ll play whoever we\u2019re supposed to play.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

In describing OKC\u2019s preparation work for a possible two game series, both on the road, against different opponents, Daigneault\u2019s key words \u201cIN THE CASE THAT WE CAN WIN THE GAME\u201d.\u00a0 No, Coach should have said after we win Wednesday<\/span> we have to have already worked on the 2nd game opponent of the play-in tounament.\u00a0 Team confidence is important and what has been said is not positive for a win on Wednesday.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

Being positive always gives you an advantage and little things like \u201cwords\u201d do matter.\u00a0 Right now, OKC does not have that mental advantage. The opponent on Wednesday does if they hear Daigneault\u2019s take.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

That is the way I see it sports fans.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n
