RILEY SHOWS WHY OKLAHOMA GAINED WITH HIS DEPARTURE AS USC DESTROYED BY UTAH\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

Let me clarify myself before I get deep into this rather short and curt writing.\u00a0 Former Oklahoma football coach Lincoln Riley is, in my opinion, a rather dubious person.\u00a0 He is not a man that I would want to be a role model for my children nor would I want his presence around me at most any time.\u00a0 I will tell you that no one person is perfect and Riley is a reflection on today’s society here in America.\u00a0 A man’s or woman’s word mean absolutely nothing for too many stinking human beings.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Nor do I jump his exit from Oklahoma, only the way it came down.\u00a0 Sooner athletic director Joe Castiglione has his hands awash in the departure but not in a moralistic fashion. Lincoln Riley wanted something that the AD did not want to give\u00a0 \u00a0So Riley showed his true colors.\u00a0 Castiglione did not want to cave to what Lincoln\u00a0 wanted for his working conditions and program improvements at OU, the same “asks” that were given to the new head man Brent Venables as of his hire.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

But one will can say that Castiglione will always be a mover and shaker with impeccable character.\u00a0 Not so with Riley, as he will go to whatever means necessary in accomplishing his goals.\u00a0 Goals of personal betterment no matter who is in the way.\u00a0 Lying and conniving are tools in his closet and what told the media after his sudden move to So Cal displayed his inner soul.\u00a0 He did not live up to his contract at OU in that final year as he planned and executed the move to USC while not giving all to that Sooner team.\u00a0 \u00a0He was and is a dishonest person.\u00a0 In my personal world, I would not want to associate with him or his kind, whatever than means or whomever that would include.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

On Lincoln Riley’s positive reflection, I will say, the guy is also one of the best head coaches in college football.\u00a0 \u00a0He sure has a knack of recruiting and developing the best young quarterbacks in the college game.\u00a0 And he can recruit with the best of them, including the Devil in Hell.\u00a0 I will leave it at that.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Lincoln Riley’s University of Southen California Trojans were beat down last night in the PAC 12 Conference Football title game in Las Vegas by the Utah Utes, 47 to 24.\u00a0 The loss reflected what has been Riley’s achilles’ heel with his football teams, including his stint in Norman.\u00a0 His defensive teams have not only been bad, but totally awful.\u00a0 This problem reared it’s ugly head twice this season against Utah and have put the Trojans out of the 2022 playoff picture.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

In the big picture, Oklahoma is better off in the long than in the short time.\u00a0 Brent Venables will turn the culture around and he will develop into a winning head coach Sooner Nation wants in bringing the program into the SEC.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

Lincoln Riley will be at USC for a rather short time and when the opportunity comes for him to make his exit to the NFL and, if you can imagine, more money, he will be off to that league.\u00a0 I expect that he will, in time, be the head coach in one of the California teams or the Dallas Cowboys.\u00a0 I say Dallas after they derail with their current coach.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n
