As an NBA fan and season ticket holder in the Association, I was not pleased with what I saw today in the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. Total disrespectful behavior by players; total disrespect for the game by faking fouls; and total disrespect by a player to a member of the media in a post game interview. For all that care, this kind of stuff turns me off on this game, called PROFESSIONAL basketball on the highest level. It has nothing to do with the score and who won the game.

Headline:  WATCH: Rockets bench laughs at OKC’s Andre Roberson for free throw struggles.  (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/watch-rockets-bench-laughs-at-okcs-andre-roberson-for-free-throw-struggles/)

The Houston Rocket bench displayed a lack of professionalism as they laughed at a player on the other team for his lack hitting free throws.  In over 58 years of watching basketball in the Association I have never seen such unsportsmanlike behavior.  The Rockets players acted like little kids that do not deserve to make millions of dollars and wear the uniform of an NBA team. You might say that the awful foul shooting by the Thunder player Andre Roberson was, in fact laughable.  Well, a real professional in sports never laughs at a fellow player in such a manner.  Let the players in the  league turn the association into a league of comedy and let us see this type of behavior at every game? I don’t think so. Taunting is not allowed and this was worse that that.  It is almost to the degree of applauding an injury to a player.  Think not?  I would put money on it that the NBA will investigate this form of disrespect toward a player in the Association. And if they do not, a big negative to the Association and why the f do I attend this product? Anyone needing season tickets Clay?

Give James Harden the disrespect he has for the game in trying to have the officials call “fake fouls” as the game is played. It was the first of the four games played that James and his acting did not get an Oscar nomination.  He tried but for this night it did not work so well for him.  James is in fact a great player that has a knack for being a dishonest player.  And if you want to get right down to it, James Harden and Houston had the game won with 20 seconds as he had the ball in the Oklahoma City backcourt and could have avoided defenders and run the clock down to almost nothing.   The Rockets held a five point lead. But James Harden is not a smart player as he went on a drive to score and lost the ball, giving the Thunder a last second chance to win.  James Harden is not an MVP. MVP’s know the time and situation at every point in a game.  As a fan of basketball, I was let down by Harden today.

Let us get to the Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams post-game press conference.  Russell Westbrook, a no thank you for being an ass in how you treated a member of the press….Not professional in any which way.  They ask the questions and the players answer the questions. Not only was Russell disrespectful toward the media person that asked the question but also to Steven Adams who did not get to answer the question.  And having Russell telling the media person how to ask a question it totally out-of-line.

Time for the NBA to put their players in place. I was  not happy with the players today.  A lack of professionalism is not putting the game in a good light. That is my take sports fans.

  1. I am totally disappointed in the media. How many times does he has to say….”it’s not about Russ, it’s about the team”. Don’t just blame the bench blame him as well is the message he was trying to say. Trammel was expecting Adams to throw the bench under the bus and Russ wasn’t having it. Like he said, they win as a team and t hey lose as a team. He answered all the other questions just fine. How do you think the other players felt all ready knowing they’re not doing their job…then to have either player agree with the media….that would have been worse than how Russ responded. Media needs to use a little more tact in the questions they ask….especially after a tough loss.

  2. as you have read, I totally disagree. Adams is a man, or is he? Can he answer a question, or can he not? Do we need one player talking for another? As for being tactful, it goes both ways. Thank you for reading my blog.

  3. I disagree that Mr. Westbrook was out of line. For years, THUNDER fans have had to listen to reporters try to divide our team with their KD vs Westbrook rhetoric. I do not hear this type of divisive rhetoric toward other teams. Good for Russell for calling the gentleman out and not letting him continue. Reminded me on when KD called Cuban out on the Superstar comment. I can’t help but wonder if you, sir, simply got offended because, as a member of the media, you knew Russ was right and your pride was hurt?

  4. thanks for the proof read Denese. I do not have someone that does it for me. I am not perfect, this is not a professional blog, and “maybe you BE professional” is not correct grammar. Appreciate that you read my article.

  5. I am not a member of the media. As for Cuban, he is an owner and his discourse with Russell was between two individuals that are not associated with the press. I can see your point but Russell did not handle it properly. He will continue to get negative feedback by many for being crude with regard to how he addresses questions in post-game press conference. I am sure this is not the end of this confrontation between the media and Russell.

  6. Actually he is being commended on his actions in the post game interview…you obviously don’t know this media member (Trammel) he has a real distaste for Westbrook and has had this problem for years. He’s always trying to bait these players into some sort of story…do your research and you would know that Trammel works for the Oklahoman Newspaper the same Newspaper that called Kevin Durant “Mr. Unreliable”

  7. no, he does not have it in for Westbrook and I have been in this area for 64 years. You obviously have Thunder blue glasses on and have a real distaste for Tram. I am sure you have had this dislike for years. You want to beat up a writer. You take off those glasses and you will find the media across the country agree with me and not you. Keep up your shit if you want and please comment again. Appreciate you reading my blog.

  8. How long have you and Trammel been friends? It appears not long. If I understand you correctly you are defending Trammel. Trammel has been trying to disrupt anything, at anytime, any place(Oklahoma). The majority of fellow media personnel and players have chosen to not comment on any of his questions because it will be different than what is written. Like they say – burn me once, burn me twice, never give him a chance to burn me again.

  9. Watch the NHL playoffs instead..that’s where the real sportsman play…not over paid thugs.
