Joe Mixon and the NFL Draft: Low first or high second round quite possible…….

As I wrote in January after Oklahoma’s bowl game, Joe Mixon will get drafted, and it will be high pick, not a low one.  Today, a top scout for the Green Bay Packers who attended the Sooner Pro Day in Norman was quoted,  “He’s gonna be gone before we have a shot.” . The Packers draft 29th.  Even if Mixon slips down into the 2nd round. many of my readers suggested strongly that Mixon would never get drafted and would never play in the League.

Mixon’s excellent workout in the OU Pro Day put the future NFL running back in the top group at that position.

From the Sporting News, “Consider the NFL’s facade of blackballing Mixon to be finished. The reality is, he’s going to go a lot higher than the league would like.”
