My ACC Season Record (23-2) .920

The news coming out on Thursday tells us that the ACC will be moving all Championship Games out of North Carolina due to a Bathroom Law (which is a different story for a different day).  ACC future game sites will be known in a few weeks, but here is where I think the games will be held.

2016 ACC Championship Game (Football) — Orlando (Camping World Stadium)

2017 ACC Basketball Championships—- Tampa Bay (Amalie Arena)

2017 ACC Baseball Championships — Jacksonville (Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville)

Week 2   Quick Recap

  1. Louisville has game, biggest test is next
  2. Clemson going through the motion once again
  3. Noles roll, lose Pre-Season All American James for 5 to 7 weeks.
  4. Hokes are headed in the right direction after a strong showing verse Tennessee
  5. SEC vs ACC is all square after four games with number five this week.

Rating Scale:

(5)- Must see TV, (4) – Can’t miss a good game (3)- Grab a few beers and some wings  (2)- Hope the beer is good (1) – Take a nap. You won’t miss a thing  (0)- Have an extra three hour nap.

ACC-4

#25 Miami (2-0) (-3.5) @ Appalachian State (1-1)

The Hurricanes are coming off a good win in week two over FAU.  They travel to Boone, North Carolina to face off against Appalachian State. The Mountaineers gave Tennessee all they want in Knoxville in the season opener.  This game will be a carbon copy of opening night against the Vols.  Look for the Mountaineers to hang tuff but fall short.

Rating:  2

My Pick:    Take Miami in the points.         Miami 24   App State 17

Virginia (0-2) @ UConn (1-1) (-4)

Good Ole Virginia!   I picked you to lose last week and got it right.  So guess what?   UConn wins in a dog fight.

Rating: 0

My Pick:  UConn covers     UCONN   21    Virginia 14

Boston College (1-1) @ Virginia Tech (1-1) (-6)

I was impressed by Virginia Tech this past week. You can tell that this team is on the rise and can be a treat in the Coastal Division this season.  The Hookies are starting their ACC slate this week against BC.  BC with a solid win over UMASS last week made me almost rethink this match up.  I see Virginia Tech bouncing back in a big way.

Rating: 2

My Pick:    Va Tech covers by two scores        Virginia Tech 34   Boston College  20

James Maddison (2-0) @ North Carolina (1-1) (No Line)

The Tar Heels have their home opener this week.  This game should be over early and the Heels can rest after two weeks on the road.   I still believe in my 2016 Coastal Divisions Champions.   Tar Heels roll in this one.

Rating: 0

My Pick:   North Carolina 49    James Maddison 17

South Florida (2-0) (-14) @ Syracuse (1-1)

The Bulls are playing well and the Orange is still recovering from the Louisville beat down.  The Bulls run a similar offense like Louisville but are not as talented.  Syracuse looks to rebound but the Bulls survive late.

Rating: 1

My Pick:   Take Syracuse in the points.     South Florida 31   Syracuse 21

Delaware (2-0) @ Wake Forest (2-0)  (No Line)

What can I say! I really surprised about Wake this season.  So I might get on the bandwagon for this game right here.  I am all in on the Demon Deacons! Four wins away to post-season. #BirminghamBowl

Rating: 0

My Pick:      On the train!!    Wake Forest   28   Delaware 17

Old Dominion (1-1) @ NC State (1-1) (-23)

I told you last week that  NC State as a favorite on the road was a joke.  “I WAS RIGHT!”  This week the same old story as  NC State is again playing a non- powerhouse AKA cupcake, for a Non-Conference, Non-ACC Notre Dame game for the fourth straight year.  I can go on about this until NC State plays someone from a Power 5 Conference.  Anyway, I like NC Sate in this one, but Dominion covers.

Rating: 1

My Pick:      NC State 27   Old Dominion 14

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Duke (1-1) @ Northwestern (0-2)  (-3.5)

It is Northwestern and Duke. Yep, that about it!

Rating:  0

My Pick:  Northwestern 17 Duke 13

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Vanderbilt (1-1) @ Georgia Tech (2-0) (-6.5)

With the 5th match-up between the ACC and SEC happing this week, this has to be the most hyped game out of the four. Joking!   Georgia Tech should take care of Vandy in this one and I don’t believe it will be close.  Yep, I’m big on the ACC in this one.

Rating: 1

My Pick:   Georgia Tech 31   Vanderbilt 10

Pittsburgh (2-0) @ Oklahoma State (1-1) (-4.5)

The Cowboys are looking for Revenge after getting the axe from bad call. While the Panthers looking to keep things going.  Pittsburgh in my mind has to slow this game down to have a chance this week.   Oklahoma State should have won last week game. This game will be a lot closer.  I just see the Cowboys running up the score in this one.

Rating:  2

My Pick:   Oklahoma State 42 Pittsburgh 24

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————

South Carolina State (0-2) @ #5 Clemson (2-0) (No Line)

The Tigers are having a hard time this year. I do think they will get back on track verse the Dawgs. Tigers will finally roll in this one before they head to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech on Thursday.

Rating: 0

My Pick:       #5 Clemson 52    South Carolina State 12

ACC GAME OF THE WEEK.

#2 FLORIDA STATE (2-0) (-1.5) @ #10 LOUISVILLE (2-0)

What a way for the ACC to screw themselves. Earlier this year, the ACC and ESPN Networks desided to put this game as a Noon Kickoff. Well, you have to give them credit about it, because they didn’t know how Louisville was going to be. So  the biggest game in the ACC this year is a Noon Kickoff on ABC.  That could be an advantage for Florida State, without the whole day of hype from College Gameday, which is in Louisville for the first time.   The Cards hype train will have to stop quickly because the game starts right out the gate.  What can you say?  Lamar Jackson has what many QB’s want in college football.  Speed, a good arm and an offense that can roll up points.

Ok Come On!

This week, they’re playing a team that can punch them right back in the mouth and keep up with them on the scoreboard.  Louisville might be a high scoring offence but FSU can score some points as well and has already done it against a ranked SEC School.  Florida State is not Charlotte or Syracuse, therefore you will see a team that will fight back.  A great test awaits for the Cardinals. This is a huge game in ACC play, and the winner controls their own desinty to ACC Championship game.  Yes, the hype is real in Louisville and as a Seminole fan myself,  I am scared s@@@@less.   I have seen the Seminoles fall behind in many games the past few years and still they pull out a win.  The 2014 game is still in Louisville fans minds, but this time Louisville has the better quarterback with the Noles having the deeper defense. I believe that the hype train is one year ahead of its time in Louisville.

Trust me, this game will be a high action packed game with big hits and big time plays. When was the last time that the ACC had a game that can match a SEC game in the same week.  I know one thing ACC fans.  Live it up!

Noles pounce on Cards early and hold off a furious comeback.  This will be one of the Top 10 games of the 2016 season.   Set back and relax, pop up a beer and get ready for some great action form the best division in College Football.  The ACC Atlantic Division.

Rating: 5++

My Pick:           #2 Florida State  42     #10   Louisville 37
