This season I will be doing a rating system. This will tell you, my readers, what games to watch this upcoming week in ACC Football, along with my personal my picks for each game.

Rating Scale:

(5)- Must See TV, (4) – Can’t miss a Good Game, (3)- Grab a few beers and some Wings. , (2)- Hope the beer is good, (1) – Take a nap. You won’t miss a thing.  (0)- Have an extra three hour nap.

ACC

Georgia Tech -3 ½ @ Boston College:      Boston College is coming off the worst offensive season in program history.  While Georgia Tech looking to bounce back from a 3-9 season in 2015.

ACC Football Season opener.

Rating: (2)

My Pick:  Georgia Tech   24   Boston College 10

Florida A&M @ Miami    (no line) :    This is the 3rd time in five season that the Miami Hurricanes opened up with FAMU.  No matter if the game is in Tallahassee, New Mexico, or Eastern Russia.  The Hurricanes should have this game in the bag.

Rating: (0)

My Pick:  Miami    42     FAMU    9

North Carolina Central @ Duke (No Line) :   The Battle of Durham North Carolina. People don’t understand the hatred between these two schools.  The rivalry that only Duke and UNCC know.  The game will be close, all the way until the kickoff. Then Duke will pull away easily!  Ah ha,   I got you thinking that this was a rivalry game.

Rating: (0)

My Pick:  Duke   48   UNCC 7

Villanova @ Pittsburgh (No Line): Now, if this was a basketball game in Mid-March, I’d be there.. Then this will be a must see game. Unfortunately, it is football!  Pittsburgh is my sleeper team in the ACC but Nova stands in their way! Oh, I keep forgetting that this is football not basketball. Oh well, Pittsburgh should win with ease.

Rating: (0)

My Pick:  Pittsburgh 42     Villanova 17

Liberty @ Virginia Tech (No Line):   The Hookies are entering a new era without Frank Beamer at the helm.  The Hookies should have no problem in this game. Justin Fuente era will begin with a win before a showdown with Tennessee in week two.

Rating: (0.5)

My Pick:   Virginia Tech   35   Liberty   3

Colgate @ Syracuse (No Line) :  Dino Babers  will be making his Syracuse depute. Back in 2014 season, the Orange had a hard time with FCS teams. Needing 2OT to beat Villanova.  I don’t think this game is going to be a repeat.  Look for the Orange to get this win.

Rating: (0)

My Pick:   Syracuse   24      Colgate   13

William Mary @ North Carolina State (No Line):  This is a big year for head coach Dave Dorian as the seat is starting to warm up. Last season the Wolfpack faithful were expecting an 8 to 9 win team. Besides contending for the ACC crown. The Wolfpack were lower tier bowl bound. With a redshirt sophomore Jalan McClendon and redshirt junior Ryan Finley  battling for the starting job. The Wolfpack should get the 2016 season off on the right note with a little bump on the road with the lack of experience at QB, but the Pack recover to pull away in the 2nd half.

Rating: (0)

My Pick:  NC STATE   49   William Mary  24

Tulane @ Wake Forest (-17):  The Demon Deacons will start the 2016 with a good foe. As the American Conference Tulane Green Wave come into town.   The Deacons usually play well at home, but unlike other conference foes. The Deacons have a challenge in week one but Vegas thinks they’re going to win by three scores.  I don’t know about this one but I don’t see the Deacons covering.

Rating: (0)

My Pick:   Wake Forest   20    Tulane 14

UNC Charlotte @ (-39) #19 Louisville:   The Cardinals should have no problem in this game. As the Cardinals should take care of Charlotte early and watch as the backups lead the team over the Vegas line.

Rating: (1)

My Pick:   Louisville   62    UNC Charlotte   14

#18 Georgia (-3) vs #22 North Carolina (Georgia Dome):  This is going to be one of those games that the team with the ball last will win.  UNC had the 2nd best offence in the ACC last season but Georgia defense has been ranked in the Top 10 the past three seasons. With Smart coming over from Alabama to be a first time head coach with Georgia. Look for that Alabama swag to show.  As an ACC fan and supporter, I will side with the SEC team in this match up.  Look for the Dawgs to keep the scoring down and pull out a hard fought win.

Rating: (4)

My Pick:  Georgia    31   North Carolina 28

#2 CLEMSON (-8 ½) @ Auburn: The Clemson Tigers are pre-season favorites to win the ACC and some think the National Title.  This will be the second of nine (ACC/SEC) matchups in 2016.  The Auburn Tigers are coming off a subpar 2015 season as Clemson is coming into this game with a lot to lose.  I don’t see the Tigers of Clemson losing this one but I do see them covering. It will be a good exciting game to watch for opening Saturday Night of College Football.

Rating: (5)

My Pick:   Clemson   37   Auburn   24

                                   ACC GAME OF THE WEEK

fsu-ole-miss-orlando_1467848416419_1518246_ver1.0

#11 Ole Miss vs #4 Florida State (-4) (Orlando): Labor Day Night will end with a bang. The 3rd and final meeting between (ACC/SEC) in week one. The Rebels and Seminoles are big favorites by some to win their divisions and by some even contenders to make the Playoffs. Chad Kelly is an experience QB with a little of a wild side. On the other hand the Seminoles are starting a redshirt freshman in Deondre Francois but the freshman does have a Heisman trophy candidate in the backfield in Dalvin Cook. The Rebels have a solid defense and will tame the Noles rushing attack early. Kelly will make some big plays and will at one point will lead Ole Miss to an early lead over the Noles. The Seminoles will make a few more plays in the 2nd half on defense in which will lead the Noles to some scoring drives that will propel the them to a Week 1 victory. Rebels take early lead but the Noles will have a 4th quarter comeback for the win.

Rating:  (5)

My Pick:   #4 Florida State   30    Ole Miss   28
